What Customers Say About The Very Best of Robert Palmer:

Highly recommended. it even has a 1990's re-release of Addicted to Love that's much better than the original; they put the remix in front of the disc and the original is the last track of the disc, so I'm glad they didn't leave the original on the cutting floor to make room for the re-mix. Unlike other "Best Of" albums that leave out your favorite song because they didn't want to cough up the royalties, this album is fantastic. It does have some of the "not-so-best" songs from his career in my opinion, but it's got all the best ones that I wanted to hear all on a single disc.

He was a great performer and it is too bad that he is gone but his music will live on forever. I bought this CD and love it. The music is great and I find myself listening to it over and over again.

I enjoy putting this in a portable cd player and walking to it - most of the music has a terrific beat, naturally. I've always liked Robert Palmer, but never got around to purchasing and of his cds. This was a nice collection to cover most of his hits.

I'd give it 5 stars, but I usually only save that for an album with fewer than 3 or 4 "skippable" tracks. There are only a few filler tracks and the cd has a spot in my rotation from now on. Robert Palmer will be missed, and his songs always take me back. Wow for a few years Palmer ruled the radio dial with hit after hit, whether it be as a solo artist or as a member of Power Station. All of the requisite hits from each incarnation of Robert Palmer are here, and in contrast to other reviewers, I couldn't find anything wrong with the new remasters, although the "addicted to love '97" is pointless and skip material.

There is no package labeling what so ever to indicate that they are remixes, but yet that is exactly what they are (as others here have noted). It is a travesty to Robert's memory.I saw him twice at the San Diego State Amphitheater, where he put on fantastic shows.

I am truly glad I got to see him. I wasn't that into his entire catalog, but I went back the second time simply because he was such a great live performer.

If you are a Robert Palmer purist, and want to remember him as he originally sounded, avoid this release at all costs. If I had the money and the time I would sue the company that released this.

I'll be looking for the original releases now, which I had previously on cassette, and this one is either going back, or into the trash. All of the tracks appear to have been so heavily remixed and badly remastered that they are hardly even recognizable.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was all an effort to avoid some sort of copyright issue, in order to release these all together.
